I get it because I’ve been there. I began my business career at my family’s private-label cookie company, which we sold to Keebler in 1993. After successfully integrating the business and serving as Keebler’s Vice President of Operations, I went back to my entrepreneurial roots. In 1999, I bought a specialty food company with thousands of customers, including Cracker Barrel, Amazon, Hallmark, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kroger, and Publix. Life took my company—and me—on its ups and downs. When the time came to sell, I discovered how much I enjoyed the process.

Cue Chapter Three for me. I joined a boutique M&A firm as managing director and, through my work, connected with many middle-market business owners who wanted to transition their companies. Many weren’t prepared for what came next, and they often struggled to generate sufficient value in a sale. I knew then I’d found my niche.

 

After earning an exit planning certification, I paired this new credential with my deep expertise in food and consumer markets. Today, I work with fellow business owners to fuel growth and prepare for successful future transition outcomes.
